2008 COOKING CLUB classes for the non-chef!   

If you are looking for a fun-filled evening where you will meet others who are confused about what to eat and have little or no time to cook then you will want to be part of this health awakening experience. Natural Foods Chef, Helena Aktar and Holistic Health Counselor Andrea Tortorella will show you how to prepare simple, delicious and nutritious cuisine. You will pick up handy kitchen skills enabling your kitchen time to be more enjoyable and learn the health benefits of the cuisine served.
At each gathering one lucky participant will win a must-have kitchen gadget! <

BUSY MOM COOKING series
  

This 3 week series meets while your children are in school.
Choose one all all three!

  • Session 1
    Learn the importance of breakfast, what “whole grain” means and how to prepare healthy breakfast choices for your children which will translate to increased focus and better grades!

  • Session 2
    Learn the importance of rhythmic eating and how to make simple creative lunches your children will enjoy. They will come home from school with a smile!

  • Session 3
    No more dinner fights. Here you will learn how to prepare a few simple, delicious and nutritious meals when you absolutely have no time.

At each session one healthy snack food will be prepared as well. This series runs three times throughout the school year.

FORM A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

This series is designed to help teens better understand not only what to eat, but when to eat. Looking at food as nourishment and not fearing food is key to forming a healthy relationship with your cuisine! If you’re an athlete you’ll want to learn how to create the energy you need to better your performance! Want to improve those grades? You will also learn how food can help you think more clearly, keep your focus and achieve the grades you never thought possible. Want to build a healthier body – do it with quality food choices! Whatever your goal, you won’t want to miss this fun-filled series.

WEEK ONE: Healthful breakfast and snack choices. Learn the importance of eating breakfast and how the quality of the sugar you put into your body will determine your energy output.

WEEK TWO: Healthful lunch and snack choices. Learn the importance of rhythmic eating and how eating this way will help keep your focus and remain upbeat.

WEEK THREE: Healthful dinner and snack choices that you can prepare on your own to give mom a break!

Working with Andrea over the past 2 years has been a fantastic experience for me. It first started with healthy cooking classes which allowed me to begin cooking healthier for my whole family by introducing more whole foods as well as new foods into our diet. I then decided to do the Metabollic Testing - and was I glad I did! One of the most positive outcomes of changing my eatiing habits was the stopping of night sweats! From the day I changed my habits, the sweating stopped! This alone has been worth everything. I also lost 5 pounds and overall have more energy. I am working hard at "slowing down" in general and being aware of the "moment" - that is for example not eating while doing other tasks. This is harder for me based on my personality, but I am confident that through the on-going support from Andrea, this too will be accomplished!
