A
Word From Bring Balance 2 U |
|
Greetings!
The inauguration of President Obama represents change. Given
the current economic crisis, many believe that somewhere along the
line our foundation shifted. For example, while the economic
foundation of the USA is capitalism, it seems to have become what it
was not meant to be. Somewhere along the way did our American
dream became an American nightmare? Did our capitalism loose its
balance and thereby become unstable?
Industrialization
changed many things. While much good came out of it -- growth,
development, and especially convenience and access to a wider
variety of food stuffs, the focus of our food shifted from the
production of "real" food and satisfaction to the creation of
creating "fake" foods and excesses. We started from the acquisition
of new and fresh poultry, fish, fruits, nuts, and vegetables from
the far corners of the globe to the production ot cheez whiz, cool
whip, and fruit roll ups, as well as all kinds of hormone and
antibiotic ridden meat and dairy. Before long, our fresh fruits,
vegetables and grains became chemicalized and genetically modified
replacements of their original selves - and in super
sizes.
Just as our economic foundation of real dollars earned
from hard work shifted to weak dollars from too many poorly
constructed artificial derivatives and bank loans, the balance
shifted too far toward artificial credit, which is not surprising in
our environment of increased plastic credit cards, plastic
surgeries, "knock-off" designer items, bookleg movies and music. How
do we get back in balance?
I say start with the food - the
thing that brings people together. Many homes and traditions that
used to guide us and keep us in balance were lost. As we move
forward and with more dynamic American progress and sustainable
development , the balance will shift away form the fake and back
toward the real. We can finally reconnect with our true spirit - and
a more purpose-filled life.
It is something that will take
time. We may even fall back along the way, but it is the
acknowledgement of the fall, not the denial of the fall that will
keep us growing and moving towards our goal of a full
life.
Stay well my friends in health,
Andrea
